Basic safety training and instructions for all seafarers

The program is developed according to requirements of the STCW-78/95 Code, taking into account the recommendations of typical IMO courses: 1.19 - Personal survival (15 hours), 1.20 - Basics of fire-prevention training (18 hours), 1.13 - Accidents, concerning health - Basic training (12 hours), 1.21 - Mutual relations between people (30 hours), answers obligatory minimal requirements to the competence, stated in Chapter VI (Section VI/1: Tables A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2, A-VI/1-3, A-VI/1-4) Code STCW-78/95 and it is intended for the seamen employed or renlisted on work in any post on a vessel as members of ship crew with available duties on safety or prevention of pollution during operation of a vessel, before purpose of any duties as it on a vessel.

After completing of training seamen should receive the sufficient information and practical skills so that they:

• Could communicate with other people on a vessel on the basic safety issues and understand questions on the safety, presented in the form of symbols, signs and signals of the alarm system-precautionary;
• Knew actions in the following cases:
• falling of a person for a board;
• detection of fire and smoke;
• submissions of a signal about a fire or leaving the vessel;
• Could define places of gathering, embarkation and evacuation routs;
• Knew sites and were able to use individual means of safety;
• Were able to raise alarm and have the basic knowledge of portable fire extinguishers use;
• Could undertake immediate actions at accident or in other circumstances demanding medical intervention before to address for the subsequent medical aid which is available on a vessel;
• Could open and close water-proof, fire-prevention doors and doors impenetrable for the sea influence, being on a concrete vessel, others than intended for closing apertures in the vessel hull.
